Individual arrested for Stalking and Disturbing the Peace Print E-mail

On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at around 10:40 a.m., two female individuals walked into the CNMI Department of Public Safety to file a complaint of stalking at her residence located in southern Garapan along Beach Road, Saipan.

The victim stated that she had seen a male individual roam outside her home on several occasions. Worried of her safety, the victim installed security cameras around her home. One day after work the victim reviewed the security footage, and saw a male individual roam outside her home before taking one of her undergarments from the clothesline. 

On Friday, January 10, 2020, police met with the suspect, who admitted to taking the victims undergarment from the clothesline sometime on January 6, 2020. Police arrested Renato P. Gaviola, and transported him to the department of corrections where he was booked and detained. Following his arrest, a Rule 5 Declaration was processed and signed by Honorable Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio on January 11, 2020, at about 11:15 a.m., with bail set at $5,000.00 USD. The document was served to Gaviola at 11:53 a.m.
