Wildland Fire Program This section is responsible for the State Fire Assistance grant program from the U.S. Forest Service. It is also home of the “Hot Shots,” a wildland firefighting crew consisting of civilian volunteers. These fire fighters are often deployed to the U.S. mainland or its possessions to assist in state declared emergency forest fires. The Forestry Section is charged with recruiting civilian volunteers to augment the Fire Division’s career firefighters.
